부시 미국 대통령과 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령은 러시아 흑해 연안 도시 소치에서 회담을 갖고 양국간 향후 관계를 제시하는 전략 프레임워크에 합의했습니다.
하지만 양국 정상은 미국의 동유럽 미사일 방어 계획에 대해서는 이해관계가 엇갈려 합의를 이루지 못했습니다.
소치에서 열린 양국 정상회담 이루 블라디미르 푸틴 대통령은 회담을 통해 미국과 미사일 방어계획과 전략무기 감축 협정, 나토 확장 반대등에 관해 의견을 나눴다고 밝혔습니다.
부시 대통령은 또 이란의 북한의 핵 프로그램에 관한 문제와 테러문제, 경제협력 방안등에 대해서도 논의했다고 밝혔습니다.
부시대통령은 또 양국은 양국이 동등하게 참여하는 미사일 방어 시스템 구축에 관심을 보였다고 덧붙였습니다.
러시아는 미국이 폴란드와 체코 공화국에 미사일 방어 시스템을 구축하는 것은 러시아의 안보에 위협이 된다고 여기고 있습니다.
부시 대통령은 또러시아의 드미트리 메드베데프 대통령 당선자와의 첫 만남이 매우 긍정적이었다고 말했습니다.

U.S. President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed on a strategic framework to guide future relations but remain divided on U.S. plans for a missile defense system in central Europe.
Speaking after talks in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi, Mr. Putin said the United States has heard his country's concerns over the missile system plans, disarmament treaties and opposition to NATO expansion.
Mr. Bush said the sides discussed other issues such as the nuclear programs in Iran and North Korea, terrorism and economic cooperation. He said the two countries have expressed interest in creating a missile defense system in which they would participate as equal partners.
Moscow considers U.S plans for deploying a missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic a threat to Russian security.
Mr. Bush also called his first substantive talks with Russian President-elect Dmitri Medvedev extremely positive.
