중국 관영 신화통신은 중국국제항공사 소속 보잉 737 여객기가 31일 베이징을 떠나 북한 수도 평양의 순안 국제공항에 도착했다고 보도했습니다.
중국국제항공사는 앞으로 베이징과 평양 간 주 3회 운항할 예정입니다.
중국국제항공은 당초 지난 1월 초에 시작할 예정이었던 정기운항을 바쁜 비행 일정을 이유로 연기했었습니다. 중국국제항공은 정기운항 연기가 정치적인 문제나 북핵 6자회담과 관련이 있다는 의혹을 부인했습니다.
현재 북한은 매년 소수의 외국인 관광객들의 방문만을 허용하고 있지만, 중국인들은 상대적으로 쉽게 북한을 방문할 수 있습니다. 중국국제항공사는 베이징 평양 노선에 중국인 관광객을 유치할 수 있는 잠재력을 기대하고 있습니다.

Air China has launched a new regular route to North Korea, making it the world's only foreign airline to fly regularly to Pyongyang.
China's official Xinhua news agency says an Air China Boeing 737 flew from Beijing today (Monday) and landed at Sunan International Airport in the North Korean capital. The trip is the first of three scheduled flights per week between the communist-ruled neighbors.
Air China postponed its opening of the route in the beginning of January, saying a busy flight schedule had triggered the delay . The airline denied it had anything to do with politics or the six-nation talks over North Korea's nuclear weapons program.
