매코맥 대변인은 여권 파일을 무단 열람한 계약직 직원 2명을 해고하고, 1명을 징계했다고 밝혔습니다.
매코맥 대변인은, 오바마 의원의 여권 기록을 훔쳐본 동일한 계약직 직원이 매케인 의원의 여권 기록도 훔쳐봤다고 밝혔습니다. 오바마 진영의 빌 머튼 대변인은 성명에서 “이는 안보와 사생활의 명백한 침해”라고 말했습니다.

The U.S. State Department says the passport files of all three presidential candidates have been breached.
State Department spokesman Sean McCormack today (Friday) said there will be a full investigation by the department's inspector general. He says the Justice Department has been contacted.
McCormack says Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice spoke with both Democratic Party presidential hopefuls -- Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton -- and will speak with Republican candidate John McCain, who is in Paris.
McCormack says one contract worker has been disciplined, and two have been dismissed for the unauthorized viewing of the files. He says a State Department employee accessed Clinton's passport files during a training session and was reprimanded immediately.
McCormack blames the breaches on "imprudent curiosity" and says there does not appear to be any other motive.
