라이언 크로커 이라크 주재 미국 대사는 3일 이라크 보안 문제를 논의하기 위해 이란 당국자들을 곧 만날 것이라고 밝혔습니다.
크로커 대사는 이 날 이라크와 관련한 회의 참석차 이스탄불을 방문해 이란 당국자와의 면담은 몇 주 안에 열릴 것이라며 이같이 밝혔습니다.
크로커 대사는 지난 7월 하산 카제미 코미 이란 대사와 만나 이란이 이라크 내 시아파 군부에 대한 지지를 늘려가는 것과 관련한 미국 정부의 비난에 대해 팽팽한 대화를 나눈 바 있습니다.
한편, 마노체르 모타키 이란 외무부 장관은 3일 유엔에 이라크 주둔 외국군의 철수 계획을 세울 것을 촉구했습니다.

The U.S. ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker, says he expects to meet soon with his Iranian counterparts to discuss Iraq security issues.
Crocker made the announcement Saturday in Istanbul on the sidelines of a conference on Iraq. He said the meeting would take place in coming weeks.
At their meeting in July, Crocker said he and the Iranian ambassador (Hassan Kazemi Qomi) had tense exchanges over Washington's accusation that Iran was increasing its support of Shi'ite militias in Iraq. Iran has denied the charges.
Also Saturday, Iran's foreign minister (Manouchehr Mottaki) urged the United Nations to create a plan for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Iraq.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military says American soldiers killed five gunmen and arrested 10 others in central and northern Iraq.
