알리 바바칸 터키 외무장관은 오늘 터키 정부는 이라크 북부 지역의 쿠르드 반군에 대해 외교적, 군사적 조치를 포함한 모든 공격의 가능성을 열어놓고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
알리 바바칸 장관은 오늘 이란 테헤란에서 마노체르 모타키 외무장관과의 회담을 마치고 이란의 쿠르드노동자당과의 전투 협조에 감사의 뜻을 전하고 터키와 이란의 협력 방안에 대해 논의했다고 말했습니다.
터키 당국은 지난 주 일요일 터미 남동 지역에서 13명의 터키 병사들을 사살한 쿠르드 노동자당의 거점을 공격하기 위해 이라크 북부 지역에 병력과 무기를 배치해 놓고 있습니다.
한편 오늘 이란 관영 통신은 마무드 아마디네자드 이란 대통령은 압둘라 굴 터키 대통령과의 전화 통화에서 PKK를 강하게 비판했다고 보도했습니다.
아마디네자드 대통령은 PKK 반군의 테러 활동은 터키와 이란, 이라크 모두에게 해가 된다고 말했습니다.
한편 터키의 레젭 타입 에르도간 총리는 다음 주 미국을 방문해 부시 미국 대통령과 현안에 대해 논의할 예정입니다.

Turkey's foreign minister says Ankara is keeping all options open in its fight against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq, including diplomacy and military force.
Ali Babacan was speaking today (Sunday) after talks with his Iranian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki in Tehran. Babacan thanked Iran for helping to fight rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party and said he discussed continuing Turkish-Iranian cooperation.
Ankara is threatening a military incursion into northern Iraq to attack the bases of PKK rebels, who killed 13 Turkish soldiers last Sunday in southeastern Turkey. Turkish leaders have rejected Iraqi proposals for dealing with PKK rebels in northern Iraq as insufficient.
Also today, Iranian state media say President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad strongly criticized the PKK in a telephone conversation with Turkish President Abdullah Gul. Mr. Ahmadinejad said terrorist activities by the PKK are harming the interest of Turkey, Iran and Iraq.
