이라크 당국은 수도 바그다드에서 자동차 폭탄테러로 9명이 숨지고 13명이 다쳤다고 밝혔습니다.
14일 시아파 교인들을 태우고 바그다드 북부의 사원으로 향하던 소형 버스 옆에서 자동차가 폭발해 이같은 사상자가 발생했습니다.
경찰은 희생자들 가운데 여성과 어린 아이들도 포함돼 있다고 말했습니다.
이에 앞서 13일밤에는 사마라 마을 경찰서 인근에서 트럭을 이용한 자살폭탄 테러가 발생하는 동시에 무장괴한들이 공격을 감행해, 17명이 숨지고 20명 이상이 다쳤습니다.
이같은 공격 사건은 회교도들이 한 달 동안의 라마단 금식기간이 끝나는 것을 축하하는 ‘이드 알-피트르’를 지내는 가운데 일어났습니다.
한편 교황 베테딕토 16세는 14일 이라크 북부 모술 시에서 13일에 납치된 로마 카톨릭교 성직자 두 명을 석방하라고 촉구했습니다.

Iraqi authorities say a car bomb has exploded next to a minibus carrying Shi'ite worshippers in Baghdad, killing nine of them and wounding 13 others.
Police say the victims of today's (Sunday's) bombing included women and children. They say the minibus was on its way to a shrine in northern Baghdad.
Late Saturday, a suicide truck bomber and several gunmen carried out a coordinated attack near a police station in the town of Samarra. Seventeen people were killed and more than 20 others were wounded.
The attacks come as Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that follows the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
In other Iraq news, Pope Benedict today (Sunday) called for the release of two Catholic priests who were kidnapped Saturday in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
