일본의 ‘요미우리 신문’은 17일 일본 집권 자민당의 의원들의 과반수이상이, 사임한 아베 신조 일본총리의 후임으로 후쿠다 야스오 전 관방장관을 지지한다는 여론 조사 결과를 발표했습니다.
‘요미우리 신문’은 집권 자민당의 55%가 23일 치러지는 자민당 총재 선거에서 후쿠다 전 장관을 지지할 의사를 밝혔다고 보도했습니다.
이 여론조사에서는 응답자의 단 12%만이 후쿠다 전 장관의 경쟁인 아소 타로 외상을 지지하겠다는 의사를 밝힌 것으로 나타났습니다. 이번 여론 조사는 투표에 참가할 387명의 자민당 의원 중 258명을 대상으로 실시됐습니다.
자민당은 일본 중의원을 장악하고 있기 때문에 자민당 총재가 일본의 총리직을 맡게 됩니다.
A Japanese newspaper poll says a majority of lawmakers from the ruling Liberal
Democratic Party support party veteran Yasuo Fukuda to become the next prime minister.
The "Yomiuri Shimbun" survey released today (Monday) shows 55 percent of LDP
lawmakers said they would vote for Fukuda in the September 23rd party election.
The survey says just 12 percent of respondents would support Fukuda's only rival, Taro Aso. The survey polled 258 of the 387 LDP lawmakers who will vote.
Aso is a foreign policy hawk who has riled China in the past with his derogatory
comments. Fukuda favors boosting cooperation with Japan's neighbors.
The LDP president will become Japan's prime minister because of the ruling party's
dominance in the key lower house of parliament.
The winner will replace Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
