두 나라는 지난 4월, 두 나라간에 공식적인 외교관계를 복원하기로 합의했습니다.
버마는 지난 1983년 전두환 한국 대통령 방문중에 일어난 랑군 폭파사건이 북한 정보원의 범행이라는 이유로 북한과 외교 관계를 단절한 바 있습니다.
그때 전두환 대통령은 무사히 위기를 넘겼지만, 수행원 20여명이 사망하고, 많은 사람들이 다쳤습니다.

North Korea and Burma have taken a concrete step toward closer relations after a split of more than two decades.
North Korea's state-run news agency says the two countries today (Friday) signed an agreement on cooperation between their foreign ministries.
The agency says the accord was signed in Pyongyang by North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Kim Yong Il and his Burmese counterpart, Kyaw Thu.
The two repressive governments agreed in April to restore official ties.
Burma cut relations with Pyongyang in 1983 after North Korean agents were blamed for a deadly bombing in Rangoon during a visit by South Korea's then-president, Chun Doo-hwan.
Mr. Chun was not hurt, but at least 20 people were killed and many others were wounded.
