일본의 엔도 다케히코 신임 농무상은 1일 자신이 대표로 있는 농민 보조 공제 조합의 불법 거래 사실을 인지하고 있었다고 시인하고 이를 사과했습니다.
엔도 농무상은 그러나 아베 신조 정부에서 사퇴하지는 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.
엔도 농무상은 1일 도쿄에서 기자회견을 갖고, 3년전부터 자신이 대표로 있는 농민 보조 공제 조합이 정부로 부터 약 만 달러를 불법적으로 수령했음을 알고 있었다고 말했습니다.
조합은 아직까지 돈을 돌려주지 않고 있습니다.
지난 7월 참의원 선거 참패로 난관에 봉착해 있는 아베 정권은 특히 농무상 임명과 관련해 고전을 면치 못하고 있습니다.
엔도의 바로 전임자였던 아카기 노리히코 농무상은 자민당의 참의원 선거 패배 직후 정치자금 비리 의혹으로 중도 퇴진했으며 그 전 농무상인 마쓰오카 도시카쓰 역시 지난 5월 불법 정치자금 수수 문제에 대한 의혹이 일자, 조사가 있기전 스스로 목숨을 끊었습니다.

Japan's new farm minister has apologized for knowing about illegal dealings at a farmers' aid association that he heads, but says he will not resign from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's Cabinet.
Speaking to reporters today (Saturday) in Tokyo, Farm Minister Takehiko Endo admitted he knew more than three years ago that his mutual aid association for farmers had illegally received around 10-thousand dollars from the state.
The group has not yet returned the money.
Mr. Abe's coalition, which suffered a major election defeat in July, has had considerable trouble with its farm ministers.
Endo's immediate predecessor (, Norihiko Akagi,) resigned amid scandal days after the ruling party's defeat in the upper house.
The previous farm minister (, Toshikatsu Matsuoka,) committed suicide in May before he was to be questioned in a financial scandal.
