이라크의 수도 바그다드 북부 디얄라주의 한 경찰서에서 차량을 이용한 자살폭탄테러가 발생해 적어도 13명이 숨지고 15명이 다쳤습니다.
이라크 경찰은 이번 공격이 디얄라주 힙힙 지역의 경찰서 밖에서 발생했으며 폭탄을 실은 차량이 경찰요원 지망생들이 줄어서서 기다리는 곳으로 질주하며 폭발했다고 말했습니다.
이런 가운데 미군은 연합군이 어제와 오늘(2일) 바그다드와 북부도시 모술에서 테러조직 알카에다를 겨낭한 소탕작전을 펼쳐 저항분자 4명을 사살하고 20명을 체포했다고 밝혔습니다. 수감된 저항분자 가운데는 이라크내 알카에다 고위간부 2명이 포함돼 있다고 미군은 덧붙였습니다.
한편 미군은 별도로 발표한 성명에서 미군 병사 3명이 저항세력 소탕작전중 사망했다고 밝혔습니다.
Iraqi police say a suicide car bombing at a police station north of Baghdad has killed at least 13 people and wounded 15 others.
Officials say the bomber struck a group of recruits lining up outside the station in the town of Hibhib in restive Diyala province today (Thursday).
Separately, the U.S. military said coalition forces killed four insurgents and captured 20 other suspects during raids targeting al-Qaida in Iraq in Baghdad and Mosul on Wednesday and early today. The military said the detainees include two alleged senior al-Qaida in Iraq leaders.
The U.S. military announced the deaths of three more American soldiers killed in combat in Iraq.
The military also announced the capture of what it called a "high value individual," who was detained in western al-Anbar province last week following a tip off.
