27일, 이슬라마바드의 급진주의 ‘붉은 사원’ 부근에서 일어난 폭탄테러로 최소 13명이 숨지고 50여명이 다쳤다고 파키스탄 당국이 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 이 사원에서 수백명의 회교 학생들이 보안군과 충돌한 직후에 한 자살폭탄테러범이 사원 부근의 한 호텔 식당에서 폭탄을 터뜨린 것으로 생각한다고 말했습니다.
사망자 중에는 경찰도 들어있습니다.
앞서 이 사원의 학생들은 최루탄을 발사하는 경찰을 향해 돌을 던지며 저항했습니다. 분노한 학생들은 이날, 기도회를 인도하던 정부가 임명한 한 성직자를 쫓아냈습니다. 학생들은 사원 벽에 붉은 페인트를 뿌리고, 사원 첨탑에 올라가 검은 깃발을 흔들었습니다.
아프타브 쉐르파오 내무장관은 정부는 시위자들이 제멋대로 린치를 가하는 행위를 용인하지 않을 것이라고 경고했습니다. 정부는 수많은 사상자를 낸 보안군의 공격이 있은지 거의 2주일만인 지난 26일 이 사원을 다시 개방했습니다.

Pakistani authorities say at least 13 people have been killed and 50 others wounded in an explosion near Pakistan's radical Red Mosque in Islamabad.
Police say they believe a suicide bomber detonated explosives at a hotel restaurant near the complex today (Friday), shortly after hundreds of Islamic students clashed with security forces at the mosque. Police are among the dead.
Earlier, former students at the mosque threw stones at police, who responded with tear gas. Angry protesters also chased away a cleric chosen by the government to lead Friday prayers. They splashed red paint on the compound's walls and raised black flags from its minarets.
Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao says the government will not allow demonstrators to take the law into their own hands.
The government reopened the mosque Thursday, nearly two weeks after a deadly raid on the compound.
