독일 경찰은 독일 하일리겐담에서 열리는 선진 8개국 정상회담장장 외곽에서 수천명의 반대시위대들을 해산시키기 위해 물대포를 발사했습니다.
경찰은 6일 시위대들이 경찰을 향해 돌을 던지기 시작하자 물대포를 사용했다고 밝혔습니다. 이로 인해 적어도 8명의 부상자가 발생했습니다.
당국은 이날 오후에 시위대들이 지방 공항에서 회담장으로 연결되는 3개의 간선도로를 봉쇄했다고 말했습니다. 경찰은 회담장 주변의 주요 간선도로를 계속 점거하고 있는 약 9천명의 시위대들을 해산시킬 계획이라고 말했습니다.
한편, 독일 헌법재판소는 7일 정상회담이 열릴 하일리겐담 주변에 설치된 12킬로미터 길이의 보안방책 밖에서 계획됐던 시위를 금지한 하급법원의 판결을 확인했습니다.
그러나 일부 시위대들은 헌법재판소의 이런 판결이 내려졌을 때 이미 정상회담장 주변에 모여들었습니다.

German police have used water cannon as they faced off against thousands of protesters outside the site of the group of Eight summit in the northern German Baltic Sea resort of Heiligendamm.
Police said they resorted to water cannon after protesters began pelting officers with stones. At least eight officers were injured.
By late afternoon Wednesday, authorities said protesters had blocked all three main roads leading from the local airport to the nearby summit site. Police said they planned to clear an estimated nine thousand protesters who continued to block main traffic routes near the summit.
In a related development, Germany's Constitutional Court upheld a lower court ban on protests planned for Thursday outside the 12 kilometer-long security fence surrounding Heiligendamm. However, some protesters already had reached the site by the time the ruling was issued.
