아프가니스탄 당국자들은 아프간 남부와 북부에서 17일 여러 건의 길가 폭탄 폭발로 모두 8명의 보안요원들이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 남부도시 칸다하르에서 2건의 길가폭탄 폭발로 적어도 7명의 경찰관이 사망하고 다른 여러 사람들이 다쳤다고 말했습니다.
당국자들은 첫 번째 폭발로 경찰차가 파괴되면서 차량에 타고 있던 경찰관 4명이 모두 사망했다고 말했습니다.
이어 사망자들의 시신을 수습하기 위해 경찰이 도착했을 때 인근에서 두 번째 폭탄이 터져 경찰관 3명이 더 사망하고 취재 중이던 언론인 한 명이 부상했습니다.
당국자들은 원격조종장치에 의해 폭탄들이 폭발한 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다.
한편, 아프간 북부에서 바다크스한 지방 경찰청장이 탄 차량이 길가 폭탄 공격을 받았습니다. 지방 당국자들은 경찰청장이 부상하고 경호원 1명이 사망했다고 말했습니다.
당국자들은 이같은 3건의 길가폭탄 공격이 최근들어 공세를 강화한 탈레반 무장분자들의 소행이라고 비난하고 있습니다. *****
Afghan officials say eight security personnel have been killed in multiple roadside bombings today (Thursday) in the nation's south and north.
Police say two roadside bomb blasts in the southern city of Kandahar killed seven policemen and wounded several others.
They say the first explosion destroyed a vehicle carrying four Afghan police, killing the officers. As additional police responded to the blast, a second bomb went off, killing three more officers and wounding a journalist.
Authorities say the bombs appear to have been detonated by remote control.
In northern Afghanistan, a car carrying the police chief of Badakhshan province struck a roadside bomb. A local official says the blast wounded the police chief and killed one of his bodyguards.
Officials are blaming the bombings on Taleban militants.
