북한은 비핵화 합의 진전의 걸림돌이 되고 있는 BDA 은행 계좌문제를 풀기위해서, 은행과 활발한 협상을 벌이고 있다고 말했습니다.
북한 관영 조선중앙통신은 20일 BDA 은행의 북한계좌 문제가 해결되면, 즉시 핵 시설 폐쇄 의무를 이행할 것이라고 재확인했습니다.
북한은 BDA 은행에 묶인 계좌를 문제삼아, 14일까지였던 핵 시설 폐쇄 시한을 어겼습니다.
북한 정부는 BDA 은행에 있는 2천5백만 달러를 돌려받은 뒤 원자로를 폐쇄하겠다고 주장하고 있습니다. 하지만 미국은 북한이 언제든지 돈을 인출해갈 수 있다는 입장입니다.
지난 2005년 미국은 BDA 은행이 북한의 돈세탁과 화폐위조 등 불법활동을 돕고 있다는 우려를 나타냈으며, 이에 따라 마카오 당국은 이 은행의 북한 관련 자금을 동결했었습니다.

North Korea says it is in "brisk" working negotiations with a Macau bank at the center of a financial dispute blocking a nuclear disarmament agreement.
The country's official Korean Central News Agency reaffirmed today (Friday) that it was committed to shutting down its nuclear program once it confirms its funds in a Macau bank have been released.
North Korea missed an April 14th deadline to shut down the Yongbyon nuclear reactor after delays in resolving the financial dispute.
Pyongyang says it will close the reactor after getting back 25 million dollars of its funds in a Macau bank. Washington says North Korea can withdraw the money at any time.
Macau authorities froze the funds in 2005 because of U.S. concerns the bank was helping North Korean money laundering and counterfeiting activities.
