지구온난화 때문에 호주의 동북부 세계 최대 산호초와 히말라야 산맥의 빙하가 위험에 처해 있다고 국제 환경보호 단체, 세계야생생물기금,WWF가 경고했습니다.
WWF는 5일, 지구의 기후변화가 세계의 경이로운 자연경관들을 위협한다면서 이같이 경고하고 지구온난화를 초래하는 온실가스 방출을 감소시키는 정부들의 철저한 조치만이 위험에 처한 자연의 완전한 파괴를 막을 수 있다고 말했습니다.
WWF가 위험에 처해 있다고 지적한 세계 자연 경관들은 남미 아마존강, 미국과 멕시코의 치화화 사막, 카리브해의 바다거북, 칠레의 발디비아 다우림, 인도 순다르반의 원주민과 호랑이, 중국 양쯔강 상류, 베링해의 야생 연어, 동아프리카 해안지대 삼림 등입니다.
한편, 세계 기후학자들은 6일, 브뤼셀에서 지구온난화에 의해 특별히 위험에 처한 지역과 빈곤국가들에게 미치는 위협에 관한 보고서를 발표할 예정입니다.

An international environmental group says climate change threatens to destroy many of the world's natural wonders.
The WWF today (Thursday) said places like Australia's Great Barrier Reef to the glaciers of the Himalayan Mountains are at risk from warming temperatures.
Other endangered wonders include the Amazon; the Chihuahua Desert in Mexico and the US; hawksbill turtles in the Caribbean; Valdivian temperate rainforests in Chile; tigers and people in the Indian Sundarbans; Upper Yangtze River in China; wild salmon in the Bering Sea; and East African coastal forests.
The organization said that natural adaptation to climate change might save some of the threatened places, but that only drastic action by governments to reduce emissions could prevent the complete destruction of others.
