그러나 베케트 장관은 이 성명이 강압에 의해 이루어졌을 수도 있다는 우려를 나타냈습니다. 영국 관계자들은 지구 위성자료들이 영국 수병들이 체포될 당시 이라크 수역안에 있었음을 입증하고 있다고 말했습니다.
마누체르 모타키 이란 외무장관은 영국의 여자 수병이 곧 석방될 수 있을 것이라고 말했습니다.
토니 블레어 영국 총리는 영국 수병의 체포는 용납할 수 없으며, 불법이라고 말했습니다. 블레어 총리와 부시 미국 대통령은 28일 화상회의를 갖고, 이 사건에 관해 논의했습니다. 백악관은 부시 대통령이 블레어 총리를 전폭 지지했다고 밝혔습니다.

Britain says it has frozen "official bilateral business" with Iran on all other issues -- until Tehran frees 15 British naval personnel it captured on Friday.
British Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett announced the new policy today (Wednesday) in London.
Meanwhile, Iranian state television showed video of the British sailors and marines. The one woman among the group (Faye Turney) said they were in Iranian waters when captured.
But Beckett voiced concern that the statement could have been made under coercion. Britain says global positioning satellite data proves the Britons were in Iraqi waters when captured.
Iranian Foreign Minster Manouchehr Mottaki says the female sailor could soon be freed.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair says Iran's seizure of the group was unacceptable and illegal. He and President Bush discussed the incident today (Wednesday) in a videoconference.
The White House said Mr. Bush fully backs Mr. Blair.
