신화통신은 또 이와는 별도로 중국 산서성 진쳉의 한 탄광에서 가스 폭발 사고로 21명이 갱도에 갇히는 사고가 발생했다고 보도했습니다. 이 탄광주 역시 사고를 즉각 보도하지 않은 것으로 알려졌습니다.
중국의 탄광업계는 세계에서 가장 위험한 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 지난해 중국에서는 거의 5천명에 이르는 광부들이 사망했습니다. 이는 중국 광산에서는 하루 평균 13명꼴로 사망자가 발생했음을 의미합니다.

Chinese state media say six people are dead and 21 are trapped following separate accidents in two mines in northern China.
The Xinhua news agency says both accidents happened Sunday and that the owners failed to report them promptly.
Xinhua says a coal mine fire killed six men and injured 15 in Dongliang, in Liaoning province. The news agency says the mine's owner attempted to handle the accident himself instead of reporting it to local authorities.
It says the mine had been previously closed for safety violations and was preparing to re-open when the fire began.
Xinhua says the second accident Sunday trapped 21 workers following a gas explosion in Jincheng, in Shanxi province. The news agency says the owner also failed to promptly report the accident. No other details were available.
China's mining industry is one of the most dangerous in the world. Last year, almost five thousand people died in accidents, an average of 13 deaths a day.
