러시아는 우라늄 농축활동 중단을 거부하고 있는 이란에 대한 이른바 “과도한”제재조치들을 지지하지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.
세르게이 라브로프 러시아 외무장관은21일 러시아 하원에서 러시아는 앞서 이란의 핵 계획과 관련 이란에 대한 “점진적이고 균형잡힌” 대응방안에 동의한 바 있다고 말했습니다.
현재 유엔에서는 15개 안전보장이사회 회원국 대표들이 이란에 대한 제재 결의 초안을 논의하고 있습니다.
미국, 러시아, 영국, 프랑스, 그리고 중국 등 안전보장이사회 5개 상임이사국과 독일은 지난 주 새로운 제재 결의안을 제안했습니다.
하지만 현재 3월중 안보리 의장직을 맡고 있는 남아프리카 공화국을 비롯해 일부 이사회 회원국들은 이 결의안 초안에 대한 수정안을 제출했습니다.

Russia says it will not support "excessive" U.N. sanctions against Iran for its refusal to suspend enriching uranium.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told the lower house of parliament today (Wednesday) that Russia had earlier "agreed to act on Iran gradually and proportionately" in regards to its nuclear program.
At the United Nations, ambassadors from the 15 Security Council members are discussing a draft sanctions resolution.
The Council's five permanent members (the United States, Russia, Britain, France and China) plus Germany agreed on the proposed new sanctions last week.
However, several elected members of the Council, including South Africa which holds the Council's current presidency, have proposed amendments to the draft resolution.
