바그다드에서 열린 지역안보회의가 이라크에서 폭력을 종식시킬 수 있는 방안에 관해 건설적이고 긍정적인 의견 교환을 나눴다고 이라크 관계자들이 밝혔습니다.
10일 바그다드에서 열린 지역안보회의에서 누리 알-말리키 이라크 총리는 이라크에서 극단주의자들을 지원하는 연계망을 차단할 수 있도록 국제사회가 지원해 줄 것을 촉구했습니다. 말리키 총리는 현재 이라크에서 벌어지고 있는 테러리즘과 종파간 폭력이 중동 전역으로 확산될 수 있다고 경고했습니다.
이날 회의에서 미국의 잘마이 카릴자드 유엔 주재대사는 이라크의 모든 인접국들이 이라크의 폭력을 막도록 협력해 줄 것을 촉구했습니다. 카릴자드 대사는 이번 회의에 참가한 어떤 나라도 이라크의 붕괴로 득을 볼 수는 없다고 말했습니다.
이라크의 호샤르 제바리 외무장관은 회의를 마치고 미국의 소리방송과 가진 단독 회견에서 이번 회의의 주요 성과의 하나는 3개의 실무위원회를 설치하기로 한 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 그는 이 실무그룹에는 안보협력위원회와 연료 에너지위원회가 들어있다고 밝혔습니다.

Iraqi officials say the regional security conference held in Baghdad was a constructive and positive exchange of ideas about how to help decrease violence in the war-torn country.
Speaking at the summit today (Saturday), Iraqi Prime MInister Nouri al-Maliki called on regional and international leaders to help stop networks aiding extremists inside Iraq. He warned that the mounting terrorism and sectarian violence could spread across the Middle East.
U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad urged all of Iraq's neighbors to do more to help stem the violence plaguing the country. He said no country represented at the negotiations would benefit from the disintegration of Iraq.
In an exclusive interview with VOA (Kurdish service), Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said one of the major achievements of the conference was the formation of three technical committees. He said the working groups include one on security cooperation and another on fuel and energy.
