적십자사의 국제위원회는 지난 주 적신월의 바그다드 사무소에서 납치된 이라크인들의 즉각적인 석방을 촉구했습니다.
스위스 제네바의 적십자사 대변인은 무장괴한들은 현재 적신월 직원 7명과 다른 이라크 인들을 인질로 잡고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
여기에는 적신월에 도움을 청하기 위해 사무소를 방문했던 사람들도 포함돼있다고 대변인은 전했습니다.
무장괴한들은 지난 17일, 적신월 사무소에서 30명을 납치했으나 이후 일부는 풀어줬습니다.
이번 납치사건 후 적신월은 바그다드에서의 업무를 전면 중단했으나 이라크의 다른 지역들에서는 구호활동을 계속하고 있습니다.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is appealing for the immediate release of Iraqis kidnapped last week from the offices of the Iraqi Red Crescent's office in Baghdad.
A Red Cross spokeswoman in Geneva (Antonella Notari) says the gunmen are holding seven Red Crescent staff members and several other people, including some who were visiting the office to seek help.
On December 17th, gunmen abducted 30 people from the Red Crescent office, but subsequently released some of them.
After the abduction, the Iraqi Red Crescent suspended operations in the capital, but is continuing to operate in the rest of Iraq.
The spokeswoman praised the Red Crescent for providing humanitarian assistance under dangerous circumstances. She said some services provided by the agency --such as helping Iraqis find relatives who have disappeared -- are now on hold.
