이 날 폭력사태는 팔레스타인 회교도들이 이드 알-피트르 축제를 벌이던 중 발생했습니다.
한편 이스라엘 내 강경노선자인 이스라일 비테누 당을 이끌고 있는 아빅도르 리버맨 총수는 에후드 올메르트 총리가 이끄는 여당에 합류하겠다고 발표했습니다. 이로써 여당은 이스라엘 의회 120석 중 78석을 확보하게 됐습니다.

Palestinian officials say Israeli troops have killed at least seven Palestinians and wounded 20 other people in the Gaza Strip.
Security officials say the violence erupted early today (Monday) in the town of Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza. They say that among the dead was Ata Shimbari, a Palestinian militant responsible for rocket attacks against Israel.
The violence happened as Palestinian Muslims began Eid al-Fitr celebrations to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In other news, the leader of a hard-line Israeli party says he has decided to join the government of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Avigdor Lieberman, head of the Yisrael Beitenu party, said he agreed to join the government, giving it 78 seats in the 120-member parliament.
