India says it is ending a truce with a separatist group in the northeastern state of Assam.
Officials said today (Sunday) that operations against the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) will resume because of continued violence and extortion attempts by the rebel group.
Police in Assam state say the rebels killed two people - a tea plantation manager on Saturday and a policeman on Friday.
In mid-August the Indian government temporarily suspended military operations against the separatist group to facilitate peace talks to end a 27-year insurgency.
