이라크 수도 바그다드에서 10일 폭탄 공격이 발생해 최소한 11명이 사망했습니다. 이라크 경찰 당국은 사드르 시 외곽의 주로 시아파들이 거주하는 지역 에서 두대의 차량 폭탄이 몇분 간격으로 각각 폭발하면서 최소한 8명이 사망하고 수십명이 부상했다고 밝혔습니다.
또 바그다드 시내에 있는 한 혼잡한 시장에서도 폭탄이 폭발해 최소한 3명이 사망하고 18명이 부상했습니다. 바그다드 동부지역에서는 도로변에 설치된 폭탄이 경찰차를 공격해 최소한 경찰관 세명이 부상했습니다. 그런가 하면 이라크 북부 키르쿠크 지역에서는 쿠르드족 애국 연맹 사무실에 대한 자살 차량 폭탄 공격이 발생해 최소한 세명이 사망하고 8명이 부상했습니다.
한편 전 이라크 지도자 사담 후세인과 7명의 공동 피고의 반인륜 범죄 혐의에 대한 재판에서 후세인의 변호인단은 최종 변론을 시작했습니다. 후세인은 이날 재판이 진행되고 있는 가운데 법정에 출두하지 않았습니다.

Bombs killed at least 11 people in the Iraqi capital today (Monday).
Iraqi police say two car bombs exploded within minutes of each other in a mainly Shi'ite area on the edge of the Sadr City neighborhood. At least eight people died and scores were wounded in those bombings.
In central Baghdad, a bomb exploded in a busy market, killing at least three people and wounding at least 18 others. A roadside bomb attack hit a police patrol in eastern Baghdad, wounding at least three policemen.
In northern Iraq, a suicide truck bomb struck the office of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (one of the main Kurdish political parties in Iraq) in Kirkuk, killing at least three people and wounding eight.
Meanwhile, defense lawyers began closing arguments today (Monday) in the trial of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and seven co-defendants accused of crimes against humanity. Saddam was not in the courtroom.
