이라크의 잘랄 탈라바니 대통령은, 종파간 폭력사태로 지난달 바그다드에서 약 천백명이 살해됐다고 말했습니다.
탈라바니 대통령은 10일에 발표한 성명에서,사체보관소의 보고에 따르면, 지난 4월 1일부터 30일까지 한달동안 천91명이 숨졌다고 말했습니다.
탈라바니 대통령은 이 성명에서, 바그다드 시내와 주변에서 신원을 알 수 없는 시신들이 발견된다는 보도가 매일 나오고 있는데 대해, 이라크 지도부가 ‘충격과 경악, 분노’를 금치 못하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.
앞서 10일, 이라크 경찰은, 바그다드 북쪽의 바쿠바 인근에서, 폭도들이 버스를 매복공격해, 승객 11명이 숨졌으며, 3명이 다쳤다고 밝혔습니다.

Iraq's President Jalal Talabani says nearly 11-hundred people were killed in Baghdad last month in sectarian violence.
Mr. Talabani said in statement (today / Wednesday) that morgues reported one thousand and ninety-one people were killed in the capital alone between April 1st and 30th.
The statement said the leadership feels "shock, dismay and anger" over the daily reports of unidentified bodies being discovered in and around Baghdad.
Earlier today, Iraqi police said insurgents ambushed and killed 11 bus passengers and wounded three others near Baquba, north of the capital.
On Tuesday, 17 people were killed and 35 others wounded in a suicide car bomb attack at a market north of Baghdad, in Tal Afar -- a city that President Bush cited earlier this year as an example of progress in fighting insurgents.
