이란 정부는 이른바 “침입적인”핵 사찰을 조건부로 다시 허용할 태세로 있으나, 우라늄 농축 활동은 계속할 것이라고 이란 원자력 기구의 사무 차장이 말했습니다.
모하매드 사이디 사무 차장은 29일 국영 텔레비전 방송에서 이란 정부는 유엔 안전 보장 이사회가 이 문제를 기각해 국제 원자력 기구IAEA로 돌려보낸다면 불시 사찰을 허용할 것이라고 말했습니다.
그러나, 러시아는 이란에게 우라늄 농축 활동을 전면 중지하라고 촉구했습니다. 러시아의 세르게이 라브로프 외무 장관은 이란의 마누체르 모타키 외무 장관에게 전화로 이란 정부는 국제 원자력 기구에 협력하고 우라늄 농축을 중지해야한다고 말했습니다.
앞서 28일 국제 원자력 기구는 유엔 안보리에 제출한 보고서에서 이란이 핵 활동에 관해 문제 해결에 접근하지않고있다고 지적했습니다.
사이디 이란 원자력 기구 사무 차장은 29일 이 보고서를 비난했으나, 이란은 자체 핵 계획에 관한 서방측의 우려를 협상을 통해 다룰 태세로 있다고 말했습니다.
한편, 5개 유엔 안보리 상임 이사국과 독일의 외무 장관이 다음 달 9일 뉴욕에서 회동해 이란 핵 계획에 관해 논의할 예정입니다.

An Iranian official says Tehran is ready for a conditional return to what he calls "intrusive" nuclear inspections, but Russia is urging Iran to halt all uranium enrichment activity.
Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov told his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki today (Saturday in a telephone call) that Tehran must cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and halt uranium enrichment.
Earlier today, Mohammad Saeedi, deputy head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, told state television Tehran would continue enriching uranium but allow short-notice inspections if the U.N. Security Council dropped the issue, returning the case to the I.A.E.A.
Iran barred the inspections in February after being referred to the Security Council over its nuclear activities.
In a report to the Council Friday, the I.A.E.A. said Tehran has not been forthcoming about its nuclear activities. Western countries suspect Iran is seeking to build atomic weapons -- a charge Tehran denies.
