U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has met Algerian leaders as part of a three-nation tour of North Africa.
He met today (Sunday) with Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika for talks on counter-terrorism.
Rumsfeld said the United States looks forward to strengthening military relations and cooperation in fighting terrorism with Algeria.
After Algeria, Rumsfeld meets officials in Morocco. He met Saturday with top Tunisian officials to discuss political reform, military cooperation and regional issues.
