A car bomb has exploded at a market in Iraq's capital, wounding several people.
The blast today (Saturday) in Baghdad, which Reuters news agency says killed one person, is one of several attacks since results of last month's parliamentary elections were announced Friday.
The results show Shi'ite religious parties won the most seats in last month's election, but not enough to form a government on its own.
Today's attacks came just hours after a Friday deadline set by the Iraqi kidnappers of an American journalist passed with no word of her fate. Kidnappers had said they would kill freelance journalist Jill Carroll - who was seized January seventh - unless all eight female detainees in American custody are released.
The United States says it will not negotiate with terrorists and criminals.
