프랑스 파리 부근에서 벌어지고 있는 폭동사태가 9일째 계속되고 있는 가운데 당국은 4일 수 건의 방화 공격에 대응했습니다.
이날 주로 아프리카 출신 젊은이들이 경찰과 소방관들을 공격했으며, 최소한 300대의 차량과 건물 몇 채가 불에 탔습니다. 또 프랑스 내 다른 지역에서도 비슷한 사건들이 이틀째 계속됐습니다.
도미니크 드 빌팽 프랑스 총리는 폭동이 일어난 파리 외곽지역 출신 젊은이들과 만나 이번 사태를 논의했습니다.
폭동에 참가한 많은 사람들은 프랑스 정부가 인종적 편견을 갖고 있으며 자신들을 2류 시민으로 취급하고 있다고 말했습니다.

French authorities responded to several new arson attacks late Friday as rioting continued for the ninth straight night in the suburbs of Paris.
At least 300 vehicles and several buildings were set on fire as rampaging youths, mostly of North African origin, harassed police and firefighters. Similar incidents were reported elsewhere in France for the second night.
The latest outbreak comes despite the presence of more than one thousand police officers in the Paris suburbs. French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin met with youths from those areas earlier Friday to discuss the crisis.
Many of the rioters say the French government has a racial bias and treats them as second class citizens.
