인도네시아 의회는 27일 늦게 정부의 석유 보조금 지출 비용을 동결하는 내용의 법안을 찬성 273표대 반대 83표로 통과시켰습니다.
경제 전문가들은 10월 1일부터 새법이 발효되면 일부 석유 제품가격이 최고 60퍼센트까지 급등할 것으로 전망하고 있습니다.

Indonesia is preparing for mass protests after parliament cleared the way for a substantial fuel price increase.
Witnesses say small, sporadic protests have hit several cities, today (Wednesday), including Jakarta.
The government says it will deploy 5,000 security forces to guard government buildings.
Lawmakers voted more than three-to-one (273 to 83) late Tuesday to cap government spending on fuel subsidies. Economists estimate the price of some fuel products will rise by up to 60 percent on Saturday when the new law takes effect.
For decades, Indonesian fuel prices have been among the lowest in the world. Local motorists pay less than 25 cents per liter for gasoline.
Soaring international oil prices have made the fuel subsidy too expensive for Indonesia's budget.
The government plans a three-month compensation package to ease the burden on about 15 million poor families.
