한국의 청와대 대변인은 부쉬 대통령에게 서한을 보내 태풍 피해에 대해 우려를 표명하고 신속한 회복을 바란다고 말했습니다.
작년의 대형 지진과 쑤나미로 인한 피해에서 아직 완전히 회복을 하지 못한 인도네시아도 위로를 전했습니다. 아체주의 재건 사업 담당 관리는 태풍 피해를 당한 미국인들이 참사를 극복할수 있다는 희망을 갖기 바란다고 말했습니다.
뉴질랜드의 헬렌 클라크 총리는 미국이 원한다면 어떤 형태의 지원도 제공할 용의가 있다고 밝혔습니다. 러시아와 베네주엘라 정부도 복구를 위한 지원을 제의했습니다.
한편 석유수출국 기구(오펙)는 태풍 후 세계적인 원유 공급이 안정되도록 적극적으로 노력하겠다고 다짐했습니다.

Asian leaders have offered their condolences and assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina in the United States.
A spokeswoman for South Korea's President Roh Moo-hyun said he wrote a letter to President Bush, expressing concern for the damage and hopes for a speedy recovery.
Sympathy also came from Indonesia, which is still struggling to recover from a massive tsunami and earthquake late last year.
The head of rebuilding efforts in Aceh province (Kuntoro Mangkusubroto) said he hoped Americans affected by the hurricane are still optimistic to overcome the disaster.
New Zealand's Prime Minister Helen Clark said her country is ready to offer any aid, if Washington requests it.
The governments of Russia and Venezuela have also offered their assistance to recovery efforts.
And the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries has said it will work to ensure the stability of the world's oil supply following the storm.
