이브라힘 감바리 유엔 정치 담당 부사무총장은 시리아가 지난 2월의 라픽 하리리 전 레바논 총리 암살 사건에 대한 유엔 조사단의 지원 요청를 무시했다고 말했습니다.
감바리 부사무총장은 시리아가 하리리 전 총리 암살과 관련해 목격자 면담 및 관련 서류를 7월 19일 까지 제출하라는 유엔의 요구에 응답하지 않았다고 25일 유엔 안전 보장 이사회에서 말했습니다.
감바리 부사무총장은 반면 요르단과 이스라엘은 유엔의 도움 요청에 긍정적으로 답변했다고 말했습니다.
존 볼튼 유엔 주재 미국 대사는 시리아의 비협조적 자세는 수용할 수 없다고 말했습니다.

A top U.N. official says Syria has ignored requests to assist a U.N. investigation into the February assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
Undersecretary-General for Political Affairs Ibrahim Gambari told the Security Council Thursday that Damascus has not responded to a July 19th U.N. request to interview witnesses, as well as requests for documents.
Mr. Gambari added that Jordan and Israel had responded positively to requests for help.
After the briefing, the Security Council issued a statement urging all countries especially those who, in its words, "are yet to respond adequately" to cooperate fully.
U.S. Ambassador (to the United Nations) John Bolton said Syria's lack of cooperation is not acceptable.
Seventeen other people were also killed when a massive bomb exploded under Mr. Hariri's motorcade on a Beirut street. Many in Lebanon accused Syria of being behind the assassination, a charge Damascus denies.
