지난 2천 1년 9-11 테러 사태전에 실시한 여론조사에서는 응답자의 45퍼센트만이 미국인 회교도들에 우호적인 반응을 보였습니다.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has welcomed a new survey that shows more Americans have a favorable opinion of American Muslims, despite recent terrorist bombings.
It says the survey of two-thousand Americans showed 55 percent had a favorable opinion, even after the terrorist bombings in London July 7th. Before September 11th, 2001, 45 percent of Americans had a favorable opinion of American Muslims.
The survey (conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press and the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life) also showed that the percentage of Americans who believe Islam is more likely than other relations to encourage violence fell from 44 to 36 percent.
CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad says the survey shows Americans understand that Islam should not be defined by the acts of what he called "a tiny minority of extremists."
