브라질 정부는 23일 발표한 성명에서 브라질 청년 진 챨스 데 메네세스씨의 죽음에 충격과 당혹을 느낀다면서 이같이 요구했습니다.
한편, 셀소 아모림 브라질 외무장관은 자국 시민의 오인피살 문제와 관련해 잭 스트로 영국 외무장관과 만나기 위해 런던으로 떠났습니다.
영국 경찰은 메네세스씨가 경찰관의 정지 경고를 무시한채 열차에 타려고 했기 때문에 경찰관이 총을 다섯 발 쐈다고 말하고 있습니다.

Brazil is calling on the British government to explain how a Brazilian citizen was mistakenly shot by police on London's subway.
In a statement issued Saturday, Brazil's government said it was "shocked and perplexed" by the death of 27-year-old Jean Charles de Menezes.
The statement said Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim is traveling to London and hopes to arrange a meeting with British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.
Police pursued Mr. de Menezes and shot him five times as he attempted to board a subway car on Friday. They say he ignored warnings to stop.
