영국에 살고 있는 이 33세의 용의자는 자신이 결백하다고 주장하고 있고 이집트 당국은 이 용의자가 알카에다 테러조직과 연관은 없다고 말했습니다.
영국 북부의 리즈 대학교에서 금년초 생화학 박사학위를 받은 마그디 엘나샤르씨는 수사관들에게 현재 이집트를 방문하고 있는 중이라고 말했습니다.
이집트 수사관들은 엘나샤르씨가, 54명의 사망자와 수백 명의 부상자를 낸 지난 7일의 런던 지하철 및 버스 테러의 자폭범인 네 명과 관련이 있는 지 그 가능성을 조사하고 있습니다. 자폭테러 용의자 가운데 세 명은 나샤르씨가 공부하던 리즈에 거주하고 있었습니다.

As the death toll from last week's London terrorist bombings has risen to 55 British Prime Minister Tony Blair has called on the world to confront what he called an evil ideology.
Mr. Blair told a Labor Party conference what the world is facing is not a clash of civilizations, but what he called a global struggle, a battle of ideas both within Islam and outside it. He warned that the greatest danger now is that the world will fail to face up to the issue.
Meanwhile, the families of two of the suspected London suicide bombers (30-year old Sidique Kahn and 18-year-old Hasib Hussaib) expressed sympathy to the victims' families, and condemned such terrorism. One of the families said they believed their son had been "brainwashed" by terrorists.
Britain's top Muslim leaders have condemned the mass killings of innocent civilians as a violation of the Koran and said perpetrators cannot be considered martyrs.
British officials have also outlined proposed counter-terrorism laws aimed at making it easier to convict suspects planning attacks.
