블레어 총리는 11일 영국 의회에서 이같이 말하고, 그러나 경찰의 현 수사에 관해서 구체적인 내용을 언급하기는 회피했습니다. 하지만 블레어 총리는 이 폭탄 공격을 계획하고 수행한 자들을 끝까지 추적해 내겠다고 다짐했습니다.
이 자리에서 야당 지도자 마이클 하워드씨는 정부가 앞으로 수주내 이번 테러 공격에서 악용됐을 수도 있는 안보상의 결함을 꼭 찾아내려 노력할 것으로 기대한다고 말했습니다.
한편, 런던 경찰은 이번 테러 공격으로 인한 확인된 사망자의 수가 52명이고 부상자가 약 700명이라고 밝혔습니다.

Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair says last week's terrorist attacks in London were probably carried out by Islamist extremists.
Speaking to parliament today (Monday), Mr. Blair declined to give details into an ongoing police investigation. But he vowed to pursue those who planned and carried out the blasts.
Mr. Blair also praised the work of police and emergency services after the attacks, which tore apart three underground trains and a double-decker bus.
Opposition leader Michael Howard said he hopes the government in coming weeks will try to uncover possible security flaws exploited in the attacks.
Meantime, police say the confirmed number of dead in the bombings has risen to 52, with about 700 people injured.
London Mayor Ken Livingstone opened a book of condolences for the victims, saying "the city will endure."
