레바논 수도 베이루트에서 폭탄이 터져 전 공산당 지도자이자 반 시리아계 정치인인 조지 하위씨가 사망했다고 레바논 경찰당국이 말했습니다.
경찰은 하위씨 자택 근처에서 21일 폭탄이 폭발했을때 조지 하위씨는 차안에 있었다고 말했습니다.
앞서 이달초 시리아계 언론인인 사미르 카시르씨도 자동차 밑에서 폭탄이 폭발해 사망했습니다.
한편 유엔 조사관은 라피크 하리리 전 총리 암살사건에 대한 국제 조사의 일환으로 레바논 대통령 경호 책임자를 심문했습니다.
2월의 암살 사건은 정치적 소요사태와 레바논 주둔 시리아군의 철수를 촉발했습니다.
한편 라피크 하리리 전 총리의 아들인 사드 하리리가 이끄는 반 시리아계 연합 세력이 19일에 완료된 단계별 총선에서 승리해 레바논 국회를 장악하게 됐습니다.

Lebanese police say a bomb blast in Beirut has killed the former head of the country's Communist party and an anti-Syrian politician, George Hawi.Police say Mr. Hawi was in his car when the blast occurred near his home (in the Wata Musaitibi neighborhood) today (Tuesday).
Earlier this month, anti-Syrian journalist Samir Kassir was killed in Beirut when a bomb exploded under his car.
In another development, a U.N. investigator questioned the head of Lebanon's presidential guards as part of an international probe into the assassination of former prime minister Rafik Hariri.
The February killing sparked political unrest and forced Syria to withdraw from Lebanon.
Meanwhile, an anti-Syrian alliance led by the slain leader's son -- Saad Hariri -- has won control of Lebanon's parliament in staggered elections, which were completed Sunday.
