미 인도태평양사령부 "북한 탄도미사일 발사 규탄...불안정한 행동 자제해야"

미국 인도태평양사령부는 “미국은 북한의 이번 발사를 규탄하며 북한이 추가적으로 불안정을 야기하는 행동을 자제할 것을 촉구한다”고 밝혔습니다.

[미 인도태평양 사령부] “We are aware of the DPRK's ballistic missile launch this morning and are consulting closely with the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan, as well as other regional allies and partners. The United States condemns this launch and calls on the DPRK to refrain from further destabilizing acts. While we have assessed that this event does not pose an immediate threat to U.S. personnel, territory, or that of our allies, we will continue to monitor the situation. The U.S. commitment to the defense of the ROK and Japan, remains ironclad."

인도태평양사령부는 27일 발표한 성명에서 “우리는 오늘 아침 북한이 탄도미사일을 발사한 사실을 알고 있으며 한국, 일본을 비롯해 다른 역내 동맹·파트너와 긴밀히 협의하고 있다”고 밝혔습니다.

이어 “우리는 이번 발사가 미국 측 인력이나 영토, 동맹에 직접적인 위협을 가하지 않는다고 판단하지만, 상황을 계속 주시할 것”이라고 덧붙였습니다.

또한 “한국과 일본 방어에 대한 미국의 의지는 여전히 철통같다”고 강조했습니다.

앞서 한국 합동참모본부는 이날 오전 7시 52분께 평양 순안 일대에서 동해상으로 발사된 탄도미사일로 추정되는 발사체 1발을 포착했다고 밝혔습니다.
