[College Tours] Smith College
In this episode, we will explore Smith College. A liberal arts school for women, Smith is located in Northampton, Massachusetts, just 2 hours from Boston and 3 hours from New York City. Founded in 1871 and opened to students in 1875, Smith is part of the Seven Sisters colleges, a group of seven liberal arts schools originally for women. Smith is also a member of the Five Colleges consortium, which includes Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, Hampshire College, and the University of Massachusetts—Amherst, giving Smith students access to a wide array of resources and opportunities. In 2020 among national liberal arts colleges U.S. News and World Report ranked Smith #11 in the nation overall, #9 best in undergraduate teaching, #5 best value, and #11 most innovative.
