한국의 삼성전자는 디지털 기억칩 가격 고정 음모에 간여했다는 혐의와 관련해 3억달러의 벌금을 지불하기로 합의했습니다.

삼성전자는 컴퓨터와 전화기 외에 다른 전자제품에 사용되는 칩의 세계 최대 생산자입니다.

미국의 AP통신은 삼성전자에 대한 3억달러의 벌금은 범죄적인 반독점 관련 벌금 중 역사상 두번째로 많은 액수라고 보도했습니다.

Samsung Electronics has agreed to pay a 300-million-dollar fine to settle charges it was part of a conspiracy to fix prices of digital memory chips today (Thursday).

South Korean-based Samsung is the world's largest producer of "dynamic random access memory" chips that are used in computers, phones and other electronic gadgets.

A news report (by AP) says it is the second largest criminal anti-trust fine in history.

The U.S. Justice Department says it has already secured guilty pleas from two other chip makers, and has levied hundreds of millions of dollars in fines.

The "D-RAM" market is worth seven-point-seven billion dollars in the United States.
