An Arab television report says an Egyptian suicide bomber carried out Saturday's deadly attack in Qatar's capital at a theater popular with Westerners.

The Qatar-based al-Jazeera news channel quotes the Qatari Interior Ministry as identifying the attacker as Egyptian national Omar Ahmed Abdullah, and says he was the owner of the car used in the suicide bombing. Egypt had no immediate comment on today's (Sunday's) report.

The blast, which killed one person and wounded at least 12 others, struck Saturday evening during a performance at the Doha Players theater located near a British school. The British Foreign Office in London identified the dead victim as a Briton.

The blast came on the second anniversary of the start of the U.S.-led war in Iraq, which was strongly supported by the British government.
