Police in Iraq say a suicide bomber who blew up a fuel truck in Baghdad killed at least eight people and wounded nearly 20 others, just hours after U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld visited the Iraqi capital.

The tanker explosion later Friday sent up a huge fireball and caused extensive damage in Baghdad's affluent al-Mansour district, an area housing several Arab embassies. Hospital workers say many of the wounded are being treated for severe burns.

The deadly incident took place just hours after Mr. Rumsfeld's surprise Christmas Eve visit to American troops in Iraq.

In a separate development, a Turkish television channel broadcast footage today (Saturday) of a Turkish businesssman who said he had been kidnapped in Iraq by a group of unidentified militants.
