파키스탄의 나와즈 샤리프 전 총리가 대통령직과 사법부를 둘러싼 갈등으로 인해 집권 연립 내각에서 탈퇴했습니다.
샤리프 전 총리는 25일 이슬라마바드에서 열린 기자 회견에서 무샤라프 전 대통령에 의해 파면된 판사들을 복직시키겠다는 약속을 집권 파키스탄 인민당이 지키지 않았기 때문에 소속 파키스탄 회교연맹당이 연립 내각에서 탈퇴한다고 밝혔습니다.
샤리프 전 총리는 또한 대통령직이 의회 해산권을 포함한 막강한 힘을 계속 행사하게 되면 무소속 대통령 후보를 지명하기로 한 합의 또한 파키스탄 인민당이 지키지 않았다고 지적했습니다.
파키스탄인민당은 아시프 알리 자르다리당수를 오는 9월에 있을 대통령 선거의 후보로 지명했습니다.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister
Nawaz Sharif has quit the country's ruling coalition because of differences
about the judiciary and the presidency.
Mr. Sharif announced at a news conference in Islamabad today (Monday) that
his Pakistan Muslim League (N) is joining the opposition because the Pakistan
People's Party broke its pledge to restore judges fired by former President
Pervez Musharraf.
Mr. Sharif also said the PPP violated an agreement to nominate a non-partisan
presidential candidate if the presidency retained certain far-reaching powers,
including the ability to dismiss parliament.
The PPP has nominated its leader, Asif Ali Zardari, to run for president in
next month's elections.
Mr. Sharif said today that his party is nominating retired judge Said-uz Zaman
Siddiqui to run against Zardari.
