이명박 대통령은13일, 한국을 이틀 일정으로 방문한 중국의 양제츠 외교부장과 만난 자리에서 이같이 말하고 중국이 남북한간 긴장 완화에 힘써 주기를 바란다고 덧붙였습니다.
한국의 이명박 대통령이취임후 북핵문제의 진전과 한국의 대북한 경제지원을 연계시키는등,대북한 강경정책을 천명하자 남북한 관계는 껄끄러워졌습니다.
중국의 양제츠 외교부장은 남북한 관계 향상과 북핵문제 해결에 대한 중국정부의 계속적인 협력을 재확인 했습니다.
양제츠 외교부장의 이번 한국방문은 이달8월 말로 예정된 후진타오 중국 국가주석의 서울방문을 준비하기 위해 이루어졌습니다.

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has urged China to play a constructive role in international efforts to end North Korea's nuclear program.
President Lee today (Wednesday) met with the Chinese Foreign Minister, Yang Jiechi, who is in Seoul for a two-day visit. During the meeting, Mr. Lee also expressed hope that China can help ease tensions between the two Koreas.
Relations between the two neighbors have soured since Mr. Lee took office and promised to take a tougher stance with the North, including linking major economic aid to progress in dismantling Pyongyang's nuclear program.
Yang reaffirmed Beijing's commitment to improved inter-Korean relations and the resolution of Pyongyang's nuclear issue.
The Chinese envoy arrived in South Korea earlier today to pave the way for a visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao later this month.
