오바마 의원은 22일 요르단에서 기자들에게 이라크에서 치안의 개선은 있었지만 이제는 정치적인 해결이 필요하다고 말했습니다.
오바마 의원은 22일 요르단 방문에 앞서 이라크의 안바르주를 방문해 알카에다 무장세력을 배척하도록 지역 정서를 반전시킨 수니파 부족지도자들과 만났습니다.
오바마 의원은 21일에는 바그다드에서 누리 알 말리키 총리를 만났습니다.
오바마 의원은 말리키 총리가 2010년까지 미군이 이라크에서 철수할 것을 희망했다고 말했습니다.

U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama says his goal -- should he become
president -- is to have U.S. troops no longer engaged in combat operations in
Iraq.
The Democratic senator today (Tuesday) told reporters in Jordan that
while there has been security progress in Iraq, a political solution is now
needed. He said Afghanistan is now the central front in the war on terror.
Obama is expected to meet with King Abdullah in the Jordanian capital, Amman,
later today.
Earlier (today/Tuesday), Obama visited Iraq's Anbar province for
meetings with Sunni tribal leaders who helped U.S. forces fight al-Qaida in
Iraq insurgents.
On Monday, Obama met with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad.
Senator Obama said Prime Minister Maliki stated his hope that "U.S. combat
forces could be out of Iraq in 2010."
