방글라데시 남부 지방에서 폭우로 산사태가 잇따르면서 최소 9명이 숨졌습니다.
방글라데시 당국은 이에 앞서 두 차례의 산사태로 콕스 바자르 지구의 테크나프 지역 야산이 무너져 내리면서 2명이 매몰돼 숨졌다고 밝혔습니다.
지방 관리들은 두 차례의 산사태로 인해 각각 4명과 5명이 사망했다고 밝혔습니다. 대부분의 희생자는 어린이들인 것으로 전해졌습니다.
방글라데시에 우기가 찾아오면서 엄청난 양의 폭우가 나흘째 쏟아지고 있습니다.

Officials in Bangladesh say landslides caused by heavy rains have killed at least nine people in the country's south.
Authorities say the victims died early today (Thursday) in Teknaf in Cox's Bazar district, when two separate landslides buried their hillside homes as they slept.
Local officials said four people died in one landslide and five in the other. Most of the victims were children.
Heavy monsoon rains have battered the area for the past few days. Deadly landslides are common in Bangladesh.
