인도를 방문중인 글로리아 아로요 필리핀 대통령이 양국간 무역 확대를 추진하고 있습니다.
아로요 대통령은 4일 인도의 경제 수도인 뭄바이에서 행한 연설을 통해, 양국간 경제 협력이 대폭 증진되기를 원한다고 말했습니다.
아로요 대통령은 인도에서 보다 저렴한 의약품을 수입해서 필리핀 국민들의 보건을 향상시킬 수 있을 것이라고 말했습니다.
아로요 대통령은 이어 인도 제약회사들이 필리핀에 생산공장을 세우고, 동북아시아와 호주, 뉴질랜드를 향한 수출 기지로 삼을 것을 권했습니다.
한편 이 날 뭄바이에서는 인도와 필리핀의 제약기업과 공업기업들이 협력 확대를 위한 협정을 체결했습니다.

Ms. Arroyo said she wants to boost economic cooperation between the two nations during a speech in India's financial capital of Mumbai today (Thursday).
The Philippine president said she wants to import cheaper medicines from India to improve health care in her country.
Ms. Arroyo also encouraged Indian pharmaceutical companies to set up production facilities in the Philippines for exports to Northeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Pharmaceutical and technology companies from India and the Philippines signed cooperation agreements today (Thursday).
