이라크 수도 바그다드 시내 한 대학교 밖에서 자살 폭탄 공격 사건이 발생해 적어도 40명이 숨지고 30여명이 다쳤다고 경찰이 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 자살폭탄공격범이 이 대학 경제학부 입구에서 자살폭탄공격범이 허리에 두른 폭탄을 터뜨렸다고 전했습니다. 경찰은 희생자 대부분이 학생들이었다고 말했습니다.
이 대학교는 바그다드 시내 대부분 시아파들이 거주하는 지역에 있는 무스탄시리야 대학교 분교로 지난 달에는 70명이 사망했던 두 건의 폭탄 공격 대상이기도 했습니다.
이라크 경찰은 또한 25일 바그다드에서 여러 건의 차량 폭탄 공격과 로켓 공격이 발생했다고 보고했습니다. 바그다드 남부 시아파 지역에 대한 한 로켓 공격사건에서는 10명이 사망했습니다.
또다른 소식으로 시아파 과격 성직자 모크타다 알-사드르는 이라크 치안군에게 바그다드 시내 치안 단속 작전에서 미군에 협력하지 말 것을 촉구했습니다.
알-사드르는 25일 발표한 성명에서 미군을 '점령자들'이라고 불렀습니다.

Iraqi police say a suicide bomber has killed at least 40 people and wounded more than 30 outside a college campus in Baghdad.
Police say the bomber detonated his explosives belt today (Sunday) at the entrance to the College of Business Administration and Economics.
Police say most of the victims were students.
The college is in a mainly Shi'ite district of Baghdad. It is a branch of Mustansiriyah University, which was the target of twin bombings that killed 70 people last month.
Iraqi police also reported several car bombings and rocket attacks in Baghdad today. In one incident, rockets hit a Shi'ite area in southern Baghdad, killing ten people.
In other news, the radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr has called on Iraqi security forces not to work with U.S. troops in Baghdad's security clampdown.
In a statement read today, the cleric called U.S. troops "occupiers."
