타이완 과학자들은 타이완 남단지역에서 첫번째 강진이 있은 후에 규모 6.4의 여진이 일어났다고 밝혔습니다.
아직까지 사상자나 피해 정도는 보고되지 않고있습니다.
한편, 지난 2천 4년에 발생한 인도양 쓰나미 생존자들과 유가족들은 쓰나미 참사 2주기를 기리고 있습니다.
2년전 인도양에서 발생한 지진 해일, 쓰나미로 12개 나라에서 23만여명이 사망 또는 실종됐습니다.
당시 쓰나미는 인도네시아 수마트라 섬 지하에서 발생한 진도 9도의 초강력 지진으로 발생했습니다.

Japanese seismologists initially issued a tsunami warning for the region, saying a one-meter-tall tsunami is now heading for the Philippines, but later lifted it after the threat had passed.
Taiwanese scientists say the earthquake was followed by a magnitude six-point-four aftershock that struck off of southwestern Taiwan.
There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
