이스라엘군 병력과 팔레스타인 무장세력 간에 26일 가자지구에서 충돌이 발생해 어린이 3명을 포함해 최소한 17명이 사망했다고 팔레스타인 의료요원들이 말했습니다.
사망자들 가운데는 팔레스타인 집권세력인 하마스 소속 무장요원 6명과 이슬람 지하드 요원 1명도 포함돼 있다고 목격자들은 전했습니다. 이들은 탱크와 불도저를 앞세운 이스라엘 군 병력이 새벽에 북부 가자로 진입하면서 벌어진 교전 와중에 사망했습니다.
의료요원들은 박격포탄이 가자의 한 주택에 떨어져 어린 소녀 1명과 여자 아기가 사망했으며 또다른 3살 난 여자 어린이가 별도의 사건으로 사망했다고 말했습니다.
한편 가자에서는 이스라엘의 공격으로 지금까지 팔레스타인인 1백여명이 사망했습니다.

Palestinian medics say at least 17 people, including three children, were killed during clashes between Palestinian militants and Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip today (Wednesday).
Witnesses say the dead include at least six gunmen from the governing Hamas group and one Islamic Jihad member.
They were killed in pre-dawn battles after Israeli troops backed by tanks and bulldozers moved into northern Gaza.
Medics say an artillery shell struck a house in Gaza, killing a young girl and her infant sister. A 3-year-old girl died earlier today (Wednesday) in a separate incident.
Israel says the air strikes were aimed at militants.
More than a hundred Palestinians have been killed in Israel's military offensive in Gaza. The offensive began after Palestinian militants abducted an Israeli soldier in a cross-border raid on June 25th.
