조지 부쉬 미국 대통령은, 차기 북핵 6자 회담이 원컨대 북한 지도자 김정일에게 “상식”을 가져다 줄수 있을 것이라고 말했습니다.
부쉬 대통령은 19일 워싱턴에서 호주의 존 하워드 총리와 가진 공동 기자 회견에서 6자 협상이 추진되고 있는데에 기쁘다면서 이같이 말했습니다. 부쉬 대통령은 또한 미국이 북한 핵 문제에 대해 외교적 해결책을 강구할 결의로 있다는 것을 거듭 천명했습니다.
한편, 중국과 남한은 19일 제 4차 북핵 6자 회담이 오는 26일 베이징에서 시작될 것이라고 공식 발표했습니다.

President Bush says the upcoming round of six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear program can hopefully bring "common sense" to the country's leader, Kim Jong-il.
Mr. Bush, speaking (Tuesday) at a joint news conference with Australian Prime Minister John Howard in Washington, said he is pleased the six-nation negotiations are moving forward.
The president also reiterated the United States is committed to finding a diplomatic solution to the North Korea nuclear issue.
China and South Korea officially announced today (Tuesday) that the fourth round of six-party talks will start on July 26th in Beijing.
